A healthy lifestyle includes not just how you take care of yourself, but also of your surroundings. Failure to do so will open an opportunity for anything or anyone to destroy what you have worked hard for. If you allow that to happen, your path towards righteousness will be damaged.
God wants you to take care of your wellbeing just how you take care of your home. You do that by getting rid of pests that are detrimental to your health and comfort. Pest Control allows you to prevent and mitigate the spread of pests around your home. These unclean "destroyers" need to be eliminated as soon as possible before they thoroughly make all your things unusable.
In life, you can also control the emergence of pests by being able to manage the environment that influences you, and your own inner demons that are eating you. Anything that destroys you are the pests in your life that needs to be taken action.
Sins are the pests in your life that you need to deal with. If you neglect and ignore your sins, it will slowly affect your morale, your faith, and your relationship to God. Evaluate your values, principles, and character if they are still in line with God's plans for you.
Romans 8:12 says, "If you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live."
Dealing with sins means going down deeper into the roots. Repent all your sins including lustful acts, selfish desires, irresponsibility, and the like. These factors can destroy your will to change for the better and walk in the path intended for you by God. If you face them and destroy them immediately, you will have the chance to cleanse yourself from evil deeds.
Once a pest is killed, it will be gone for a while, but is expected to return after some time. That's why it's important for you to mitigate them as soon as they come back by continually repenting your sins to the Lord. You cannot assume good things to happen once you have resolved a previous problem. Learning is a continuous process and God wants you to keep on learning from your mistakes, so you'll know how to better deal with it next time.
Embody christians virtues as part of your resolutions for it is what will lead you to a better disposition in life. 2 Peter 1:5-6 says, "For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness." Continue to work your way to improvement and character development, in order to live a holistic life with God as your guidance.
Aside from dealing and solving all the problems with pests, protecting yourself from them will also allow you to be safe from their snares and attacks. Pests attack when you aren't aware of their presence, because that's where they can move freely without distractions. You can mitigate them all you want, but nothing beats prevention as your primary shield against them. However, guarding your soul works differently. Sometimes, instead of getting attacked, it's you who could be delivering yourself to the pests if you won't recognize it's aftereffect in your life later on.
1 Peter 5:8-9 declares, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” Guarding yourself from the spiritual pests is also protecting your faith in God. As a sinner, you may be easily tempted to commit a sin, but He will help you endure through it and renew your soul. If you help yourself and stay away from any chance that might drive you to sin, you are also protecting your relationship to God as a way of respecting His will.
Pest Control is important in any household because it is what protects the family from sickness, structural deterioration, and an unhealthy environment. As you care for your surroundings, you are also doing yourself a favor by keeping it away from harm. As God's steward, it is not just your duty to look after His creations, but also to look after yourself and keep it free from wickedness. As much as possible, discipline yourself to resist the temptations that's circling you from day to day.
