In times of sickness, there are many ways of healing and treatment that could be used to restore one's health and cater their medical needs. As a Christian, seeking God's healing is part of it. Sometimes, you might think seeking professional help is unnecessary, but it is not against God's will if you ought to receive help from them.
As God's steward, you have a responsibility towards yourself. That includes keeping yourself healthy and in good condition. Spiritual sickness is different from those that require medical attention. Hence, you must not hesitate to go for an expert's treatment whenever necessary.
Mathew 9:12 says, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick." Sickness is something that you shouldn't take for granted. Check your health at all times and mind the medical needs you must have. Doctors are God's provision for your wellbeing. They are not contrary to what God really wants for you.
You wouldn't be able to function well if you are not your best self. Sickness can tend to halt your obligations in life, which means your progress is also on hold. In order to continue serving God with full vigor and willingness, you must first cater to your welfare before you can serve others.
Luke 21:34 declares, "Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap."
Sometimes, health problems become worse because you failed to attend to it, not because it's meant to rapidly affect you. God wants you to protect yourself from harm and keep yourself healthy. Refrain from doing certain activities that only bring you addiction, illness, or bad influences. Those are not good not just for your body but for your mind and soul as well. If one of these aspects fails to function well, the rest will be badly affected and will ruin a larger area of your responsibilities. Be the hero of your life and save yourself from danger.
God only wants what's best for you. The way you care for your physical health reflects on your overall well being. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 states, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
It is only just to take good care of something that is not yours. Your body is from God and it shall be returned at the right time. Therefore, you must make sure it is not damaged nor altered from His original creation. As normal as it is to be sick, you can still rise up and be healthy again.
Your health is your wealth. Nothing matters more in life than being able to live it to the fullest. When you're happy, you can fulfill a lot of things that are of service to the Lord. Christians’ form of medicinal cure is not merely on the physical aspect but also on emotional and spiritual facets. God wants His followers to have a wholesome medication to carry out their purpose on earth. If you want to care for your body, don’t forget to include your spiritual, emotional, and mental health.
