Life is filled with injustices which tend to disorient people from the righteousness that they need to embody. Others are blamed and accused for something they did not do, while others are committing illegal crimes that they can easily escape from.
Servants of justice are the ones who give legal services to the people who need assistance when it comes to legal matters. God gave lawyers the ability and knowledge to defend the oppressed, in order to put the society in order. Legal services are what ordinary people need in times of trouble, distress, and oppression. As much as God wants His followers to do things in accordance to His commands, their free will allows them to resort into doing bad things.
Lawyers must have a binding objective when it comes to giving legal services, and that is to bring enlightenment to their every client regarding what's right in the eyes of God. The law is as important as His words, but at the end of the day, real judgement will come from His decisions.
Legal services must not lead people astray spiritually but rather pull them closer to God. Some lawyers would easily take advantage of their power to do wicked deeds, which tend to influence people into lying and deceiving others. God wants His legal disciples to follow both human and divine law because it is what will truly set the oppressed individual free.
Isaiah 56:1 declares, “This is what the Lord says: Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my righteousness will soon be revealed." A lawyer who is given the power to cater to other people's legal problems must always seek to do the right thing. Anything other than that is disobeying God, and will surely not inherit the kingdom He has prepared in heaven. God saves those who are imprisoned by immorality, and as a servant of justice, a lawyer should and must do the same thing.
Legal services will only bring enlightenment to the victim if the lawyer is working hand in hand with the Lord. This means instilling good virtues to his clients and to himself. As someone who is entrusted to serve humanity and the people, he must be able to characterize the qualities that are both acceptable and commendable by human and divine law. God will help everyone who needs His guidance, and for that, one must also nourish himself to walk in the service of the Lord.
Philippians 2:14-15 says, "Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world." Lawyers will be exposed to doing unrighteous things, but it is during that time where a lawyer must give just and fair legal services. If he is willing to do what is good and right, others will follow his lead. In that case, you are not only doing your job but also doing what God wants from you.
Proverbs 24:24-25 declares, "Whoever says to the guilty, “You are innocent,” will be cursed by peoples and denounced by nations. But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and a rich blessing will come to them." As God's faithful stewards with sufficient knowledge and wisdom, it is your duty to proclaim God's righteousness on earth. You must only seek to protect the innocent and not the guilty. In all situations, give the right legal service to someone who needs your help, for God wants to be an instrument of hope and justice to them.
"To whom much is given, much is required." If you are given by God with special skills and talents, you must nurture it by giving rightful services to the people around you. Reside with God's words at all times to guide your mouth and mind from only speaking the truth. If your objective for being a lawyer is to help people realize that God is watching both their good and bad deeds, you are not only realigning their paths but also helping them gain riches in heaven.
Legal services are more than just advice for someone who has been victimized by manipulative individuals. It is the silver lining for those who cannot see hope and have forgotten that God has the power to bring justice regardless of your status in life. Lawyers are one of His faithful stewards who must work with Him in bringing His commands to human law, and make it prosper for the good of everyone.
