Taking credit over something you didn’t do is like disrespecting the efforts and hard work of someone who deserves it. Imagine doing that to God, where you give yourself the credit for a successful career, a joyful life, and a victorious expedition. He was there the whole time, guiding you from the vehement forces that tried to sail your boat away from Him…and then you failed to recognize His workmanship in you.

God cares about you. He cares about your every voyage. He cares about your decisions. If there’s someone who would be the first to celebrate whenever you win in life, it is Him. When life offers you exceptional panoramas of a beautiful opportunity, it is His blessings pouring down your way; it is not luck nor a leap of chance.   

Spend a little while and look back to where you came from. Imagine the instances where you have surpassed certain challenges in life. Do you think you are able to surpass all those impediments if you were alone? God is with you the whole time. If you believe He deserves the credit, give it to Him with no hesitations. 

Thank the Lord at All Times

Thanking God for everything He has done for you isn’t as simple as saying it. A dedicated follower of Christ will show it wholeheartedly by walking His words into your deeds. Thanking Him means you acknowledge His works on you and you appreciate the love He has given you. Psalm 100:4-5 avows, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

God is faithful to His promises. When He said he won’t abandon you, He will be there through thick and thin even on times you forget about Him. A simple “Thank you, Lord” is already a generous gift of love and recognition you can give to Him. From all the guidance and protection, He has laid upon your existence, your sense of gratitude towards Him will already make Him happy.

Share God’s Marvel in Your Life

Mark 5:19 professes, “And He did not permit him but said to him, ‘Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.’” 

If God showed you His magical wonders in your life, feel free to share and tell others about it. Brag about His deeds and how He has turned you as one of His masterpieces. Give all the credit to Him and raise other people’s spirits about His love for humanity. You can have the chance to open their hearts to God and allow Him to do the same towards them. God is for everyone. He is the Father of all and He has different ways of showing each of His faithful believers about His glorious works. Don’t be ashamed to praise His name in public and tell people how proud you are that He is your God.

Constantly Remind Yourself of Him

Whenever you receive good news, have done something good, feel strangely calm for the day, or anything that makes you feel so blessed—remind yourself of God’s Holy Presence, and recognize His blessings in your life. That way, you will be able to give God the credit as soon as you believe it is Him who gave you so much to thank for the day. God has beautifully worded His promise on Genesis 28:15, “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” 

In spite of the countless times that you may feel alone and thought about being abandoned, God will stay and let you feel His everlasting love. Do not be surprised when He gives you challenges that seem hard to overcome, for He is only testing your faith and your courage to face the trials. In the end, He will give you rest and consolation, and you will realize how much you need Him in your life.

 Life incumbencies are just a reminder for you how powerful God is. There will be instances where you may forget to give Him the credit that is due for Him, but what matters is you are able to remember Him through prayer and faith. Strengthen your relationship to Him and you will be amazed by His loving grace and mercy. All other things that give you happiness today will not last, but His glory and resplendence will reign forever.
